Seen something we should check?
A bank or card issuer quietly changing its terms, a debt collector breaking the rules, a new scam going around, a credit bureau glitch, a lender treating people unfairly? Tell us — a letter, an email or a screenshot helps (black out your account numbers first). Lenders, agencies and credit unions are welcome to send their own news with a link we can verify. An editor checks every tip before anything is published, and we never publish your name or contact details.
What we won’t take
- Photos that identify people who were hurt, or that show minors or anyone filmed without their permission in a private place.
- Anyone’s full account numbers, Social Security number, date of birth or credit report — yours included. Black them out in screenshots.
- Anyone else’s debts or finances, address or phone number.
- Documents you took without permission, or anything that breaks a confidentiality agreement or a client’s privacy.
- Requests for help with your own account. For a credit report error, dispute it with the bureau (see Start Here); for identity theft, go to IdentityTheft.gov.
- Paid promotion. If you want guaranteed coverage, publish a labeled sponsored story instead.
We don’t pay for tips, and a tip never buys coverage. Prefer email? credit-tips@cashinnews.com.
