What we collect
- A random visitor ID in a first-party cookie, so we can count unique readers, remember which stories you marked useful, and stop duplicate votes. It is not linked to your name.
- Reading signals for each story: that it was opened, roughly how long it was read while on screen, how far you scrolled, and whether you shared or liked it. The newsroom uses these totals to decide what to cover.
- What you send us: comments, questions, story ideas, and the name and email you enter. Emails are never shown publicly.
- Tips: what you tell us, any photo or video you upload, and the name and contact details you give (stored encrypted). Uploads stay private unless an editor clears them for a story; rejected tips’ uploads are deleted. We never publish a tipster’s name or contact details.
- Searches made on this site, without your identity, to understand what readers want covered.
- A one-way hash of your IP address to stop spam and abuse. We don’t store the address itself.
Advertising
Ads on CashIn Adventure are served by Laidback Machine (https://lbmads.com/), which may set its own cookies to count impressions and clicks and to prevent fraud. See Laidback Machine’s terms for details.
Payments
Tips, memberships and sponsored-story fees are processed by Square. We never see your card number. We keep the amount, email, Square payment ID and the reference code you used.
Tips and uploads
By sending a file you confirm you have the right to share it, that it shows no one’s address or personal details, doesn’t identify injured people or minors, and contains nothing you aren’t allowed to share (and that you didn’t take it somewhere closed or off-limits), and that CashIn Adventure may publish it (with our watermark for video) if an editor uses your tip. We don’t pay for tips.
Corrections
If you believe a story is wrong — a park or ride name, a date, a price, a season, a quote, an attribution — email adventure@cashinnews.com — an editor reviews every request, and corrections are noted at the top of the story.
AI-generated content
Most stories and all answers in “Ask the newsroom” are produced by AI and labeled. They can contain errors; check the linked sources before relying on them, and email adventure@cashinnews.com to report a problem. Nothing on this site is legal, medical or safety advice, and we don’t endorse any park, outfitter, guide or booking site. Dates, hours, prices, conditions, seasons and regulations are as announced or reported by the sources we name and change often — check the official site, the park’s alerts page or your state wildlife agency before you go. Alerts on the Heads Up board are listed as announced and can change at any time. Outdoor activities and rides carry real risks; follow posted rules, closures and the operator’s instructions. If you’re asked to remove information about yourself, or see something that puts someone at risk, email us and an editor will act quickly.
Comments
By posting, you confirm you wrote it and give us permission to display it. We remove spam, harassment, threats, personal information about others and illegal content. Moderation is assisted by AI and reviewed by editors.
