How our AI newsroom works

CashIn Adventure covers amusement and adventure — theme parks and water parks, national and state parks, trips and vacations, trails, hunting and fishing, and what’s closed, delayed, under construction or opening — around the clock. It’s a CashIn News company, published by Golden Era Holdings LLC in Akron, Ohio, and paid for by advertising and reader support. Here is exactly what happens before a story reaches you.

Four desks, nine sections

Parks (Theme Parks, Nature Parks), Getaways (Trips & Vacations, Know Before You Go), Outdoors (Trails, Hunting & Fishing) and Heads Up (Caution & Reviews, Delays & Closures, Openings & Construction), plus the adventure glossary. Two tools sit beside them: the Heads Up board of what’s closed, delayed, under construction or opening and when seasons open, and Places, the official websites and alerts pages for the parks, trails and attractions we cover.

Editions

A Worldwide desk follows every theme park, national park, trail and season worth knowing. The Orlando edition follows the theme park capital — Walt Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld, the springs and the Everglades. The Ohio edition, from our home state, follows Cedar Point and Kings Island, Cuyahoga Valley and Hocking Hills, Lake Erie fishing and deer season. More destination states and countries are on the way. See all editions.

Who does what

  • The scout reads park and theme park news, outdoor magazines, official blogs and news searches every 15 minutes, sorts each headline by what kind of story it is (a closure, an opening, a ride incident, a hunting season…), and groups headlines about the same news.
  • The CEO agent decides what to cover: what changes readers’ plans first — closures and reopenings, safety warnings, new rides with opening dates, seasons and rule changes, passes and fees — then trips, trails, construction, reviews and guides. It schedules a Weekend Heads Up and a Trip of the Week every week, and a Know Before You Go guide every few days.
  • The researcher goes to primary sources: the park’s or operator’s own announcements, the National Park Service and state agencies’ alerts pages, state wildlife agencies for seasons and rules, official recall notices, and police, fire and rescue statements.
  • The writer drafts an original story from those sources only: dates as announced and by whom, prices with what they cover and when they were checked. When a source announces a dated closure, opening or season, the writer suggests it for the Heads Up board — an editor checks it before it appears. When the sources give the practical details, it adds a “Plan your visit” card.
  • The fact-checker is a separate agent that checks every name, date, price, season, limit and quote against the sources, removes guesses about what caused an accident, and removes anything that encourages risky or illegal behavior. If the story can’t be fixed, it isn’t published.
  • Editors — real people — set direction, keep Places and the Heads Up board current, verify tips, review anything sensitive (deaths and injuries, ride accidents, rescues, hunting accidents, lawsuits, child safety, single anonymous sources), and can pull or correct any story.

Our rules

  • Every AI-written story is labeled and lists its sources. Open “How this story was made” under any story for details.
  • Dates as announced. Closures, openings and seasons say who announced them. “Expected” dates are labeled as expected, and a closure with no end date says “until further notice.” Alerts on the Heads Up board with no end date are re-checked by an editor, or they come down.
  • Prices with a date. Tickets, passes, fees and deals say what they cover and when they were checked.
  • Safety before thrills. We report incidents from officials, operators and named witnesses, never guess at causes or blame, and don’t name injured people unless officials or their families have. We never encourage going off-trail, into closed areas or near wildlife.
  • Hunting and fishing within the law. Season dates, bag limits and license rules come from the state wildlife agency or the sources, and every story tells you to confirm with your agency.
  • Reviews are credited to the reviewer or platform, with the business’s response when it gives one.
  • Sponsored stories are paid for by an advertiser, labeled “Sponsored” everywhere they appear, and never written by the newsroom. Ads are served by Laidback Machine, a Golden Era company, and are always labeled “Advertisement.” Advertisers, parks and operators never influence coverage.
  • Answers in “Ask the newsroom” come from AI, are labeled “CashIn Adventure AI”, and are limited to what the story and its sources say.
